What is a Reiki-Tarot reading? Tarot is an ancient communication tool that has been used both as a game and for divination. Most often, the history is traced to medieval Italy (as noted in this article), but it’s widely understood that the tradition was inherited in the West after development in the Middle East.

Tarot cards offer four different types of wisdom: mental, emotional, physical, and intuitive. Through intention and spiritual awareness, the synchronicity of the cards offer a way for the querent to come back into balance, utilizing numerous forms of wisdom—integrated. Within my readings, I include the energetic envelope of Reiki to create a space for spiritual insights as well as personal healing. The highest compliment that I have received is that my Reiki-Tarot readings are assuring, helpful, and empowering. My intention is that every reading will leave you feeling empowered and hopeful.

Why should I do a Tarot reading? Tarot can be an enlightening tool when you are at a crossroads or seeking guidance for a specific issue or general life circumstances. Note that the cards do not dictate or even predict outcomes, but rather offer a range of pragmatic ideas from which to move forward. Even if we are in the trickiest predicament,  remember that Source always has ideas of what to do next—and sometimes the guidance may be quite simple, such as resting, cleaning, or simply waiting until a dynamic is clearer.

What does a reading with you look like? I typically use FaceTime to conduct readings. If you’d like to record your reading, you’re welcome to set up a Zoom call, so you can easily access it later. I also use other interfaces as necessary.

Once you’ve booked your session, you can share which specific area of life you’re seeking insight about: career, creativity, family, home, or romance (please note that I do not address health concerns). Or, we can briefly discuss at the beginning of our call.

Although some Tarot professionals offer 'general' readings, I've found that the messages are clearer with a central focus or even two—even if we decide to expand the scope. As the reading progresses, some people share very little information and just listen to me. In other sessions, the dynamic is more conversational. Anywhere along that range works! Ultimately, I hope to provide insight, in whatever way is most comfortable for you.

I will show you the cards throughout the reading, and I will send photos of all of the cards afterward, via text or email. This way, you can use the photos as screensavers on your devices, should you choose. I’m happy to briefly answer follow-up questions.

How many cards do you typically pull? When I read for an individual, I generally pull 8 cards in the main spread (8 is the symbol of infinity), plus one from the bottom of the deck. Nine tarot cards provide ample information about someone's life journey at that moment.

I work with 'jumper' or ‘flipper’ cards that leap out while shuffling. I find that those messages really need to be a part of the interpretations.

What does it mean to pull a 'clarifying' card? Every card has a variety of meanings (higher/lower, internal/external, past/present/future), and sometimes I feel drawn to pull an additional card to allow for a clearer message. This extra card will incorporate additional symbolism and sometimes suggest specific people in your life. Ultimately, I strive to remain flexible and intuitive to see what messages are wanting to come through.

Do you predict the future in your readings? That's a great question and a tough one. On the one hand, everyone has free will, and that means that anyone can change their life at any time. Yet, Tarot cards provide messages about potential or even likely outcomes. In a reading, the cards will suggest how to navigate any issues (which you can utilize or not), in order to achieve optimal results. Even if there are serious challenges on your journey, I hope to translate the tarot cards so your path can be easier and more joyful. What decks do you use? Typically, I use the out-of-print Hoi Polloi deck for the bulk of my readings, which is based on the widely-available Rider Waite (this allows you to do follow-up, online research, since the meanings will be nearly identical). I end each session by pulling several cards from two oracle decks by Tosha Silver—Divine Abundance and Wild Offering. These have short meditations or prayers, which offer general energetic support and text that may be helpful for you in the following weeks.

Note that Tarot cards have a very specific, historical structure – much like playing cards, plus the Major Arcana—whereas Oracle cards are divination cards using other symbolism (spirit animals, frequencies, archangels, etc), and there is no set number or hierarchy. You do not need to know any of this information to book a session, but you are welcome to read more about the differences, if you’re interested.

Please see the Scheduling & Rates page since I will periodically offer promotions using decks, other than my standard Hoi Polloi edition.

Are your readings confidential? Yes, readings are entirely confidential.

Do you give readings for groups? I do readings for entities, such as organizations, businesses, or a board of directors. Yet, I don't give them to groups of friends, or individuals with audiences. I do write general readings on Instagram, called Tuesday Tarot. These messages are meant for anyone who chooses to read them, and each reader can process the messages in private, or share their thoughts within the comments. I also do general and live readings on TikTok and other platforms.

Do I give readings for pets? I read for both cats and dogs. When I read for an animal, I pass along helpful information to the guardian, including emotional disposition, likes and dislikes, etc.

How often would I recommend getting a reading? No one timeline can work for everybody. Each person knows in their heart when they are ready for another reading. If you're seeking a specific kind of spiritual guidance, I have a substantial network of practitioners who I can recommend.

You can schedule your reading here. I look forward to meeting you!
